Position Overview
Traffic Safety Supervisor is a hands-on, outdoor leadership role responsible for supervising parking and traffic operations at large-scale events. You will lead and guide a team of Parking Attendants during events, ensuring efficient traffic flow, safe pedestrian movement, and high standards of customer service. This is a fast-paced, physically active, outdoor role requiring strong leadership, organization, and real-time decision-making skills. This role is ideal for a confident, reliable leader who communicates clearly, stays calm under pressure, and leads by example.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supervision
· Lead and supervise a team of parking attendants, ensuring staff are engaged, supported, and performing at their best.
· Provide clear instructions, coaching, and real-time support to staff, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for staff, clients, and management during your shift.
· Complete shift reports, communicate key updates to management, and provide constructive feedback to staff.
· Lead by example in professionalism, reliability, and guest-focused service.
Operations & Safety Management
· Oversee traffic flow, parking operations, and pedestrian safety, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and event requirements.
· Conduct field hazard assessments and respond quickly to issues such as congestion, guest concerns, or safety hazards.
· Coordinate employee deployment and vehicle flow, maintaining smooth and efficient operations.
Customer Service & Guest Experience
· Ensure high standards of customer service, greeting guests, assisting with directions, and creating a positive first impression.
Equipment & Site Administration
· Maintain and manage equipment, ensuring all items are accounted for, in good condition, and ready for use.
· Pick up and return gear as required, ensuring operational readiness.
· Manage site administration tasks to support smooth daily operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
Valid Flagging Certificate (required)
Valid First Aid Certificate (required)
At least 1 year experience in traffic control, parking operations, or large-scale event logistics (required)
Supervisory or leadership experience (preferred)
Skills & Attributes
Strong communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure
Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
Safety-focused with excellent attention to detail
Strong leadership presence with a team-first mindset
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods
Pay
Starting from $21 per hour, based on experience
Schedule
Event-based, flexible scheduling, including:
Day, evening, and occasional early-morning shifts
Weekdays, weekends, holidays, and on-call work
Hours vary based on event size and schedule
